Gov't Releases KSh 2.4 Billion for March Payment to Beneficiaries of Inua Jamii Programme

The Inua Jamii program's beneficiaries received KSh 2.08 billion for March payments from the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection on Friday, April 5, 2024.

Additionally, KSh 4.992,500 was made available for the complimentary Nutrition Improvement through Cash and Health Education (NICHE) programme.

The beneficiaries of Inua Jamii will get their stipends through Mpesa as per a presidential directive. First to get their stipends by dialling *222# are the carers of orphans, vulnerable children, and those with severe disabilities. Recipients of the Older People Cash Transfer will still get their stipends through their Inua Jamii bank accounts.

The first payment was made on Monday, April 8, 2024. The Easter holiday celebrations were the cause of the delay.

With a stipend to help people avoid poverty and hunger and to enhance their lives, the government's Inua Jamii project offers financial transfers to the most vulnerable community members.
