Former REREC Officer Charged with Forging Degree Certificate

A former Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation manager has been charged of forging academic documents to get the position.

Noah Okech Oluoch pleaded not guilty to three counts of forgery before Milimani's anti-corruption Court magistrate Thomas Nzyoki.

He was charged with fraudulently obtaining a salary and allowance of Sh1,445,066 from the agency after being employed using a forged degree certificate.

The charge sheet showed he had forged a master's degree in business administration and finance from the University of Nairobi.

The magistrate granted the accused a Sh1 million bond with an alternative bail of Sh500,000. He was also ordered to surrender his passport to court within seven days.
