Betty Kyalo’s salon ‘Flair by Betty’ to be auctioned over rent arrears

Betty Kyalo’s popular beauty shop, Flair by Betty, has been put on auction due to outstanding rent arrears.

According to a public notice published in newspapers, Keysian Auctioneers announced that the shop’s contents would be sold off on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, following a case brought forth by the landlord.

Among the items set for auction are various salon furnishings, including dismantled shelves, massage beds, racks, mirrors, towel warmers, and dressing tables.

Additionally, electronic appliances like a microwave, coffee maker, video recorder, and CCTV cameras are up for sale. The auction is scheduled to be held at Leakey’s Storage Limited along Lunga-Lunga road in Nairobi.

Flair by Betty was launched in 2020 through a lavish event attended by notable figures such as Idah Odinga, wife of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

During its launch, Kyalo pledged to provide top-notch salon services, emphasizing “good hair, beautiful nails, and fresh barber cuts.” The salon, situated on Lenana Road, boasted an elegant ambiance adorned with chandeliers and comfortable seating, housed within the upscale Mihrab Building.

This venture followed Kyalo’s exit from her previous business engagements with Posh Palace, marking a shift towards establishing a high-end spa experience.
