Spotify's New Feature Will Now Auto-Update Playlist Based On Your Mood

Spotify has introduced 'daylist', a personalised playlist that automatically updates based on one's mood changes throughout the week.

'Daylist' was introduced in select markets late last year, and the music streaming platform announced its expansion into Kenya on Wednesday.

“This new, one-of-a-kind playlist on Spotify ebbs and flows with unique vibes, bringing together the niche music you typically listen to during particular moments in the day or on specific days of the week. It updates frequently between sunrise and sunset with a series of highly specific playlists made for every version of you. It’s hyper-personalized, dynamic, and playful as it reflects what you want to be listening to right now,” Spotify said.

With 'daylist', users will receive new tracks with each update, as well as a new title that sets the mood for their playlist. The feature is accessible to both free and premium Spotify users in Kenya.

It follows last year's debut of an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered DJ who live-mixes music based on a listener's preferences and listening habits.

To locate a daylist playlist, search for 'daylist' on your device. The playlist is updated multiple times per day, and you can see when the next update will be from the playlist page on mobile.

A 'daylist' playlist can also be saved to their library by tapping the three-dot menu, scrolling down to "Add to playlist," then tapping "New playlist".
