A 23-year-old woman and her son are being treated at Magunga Level 4 Hospital in Suba South, Homa Bay County. The woman's husband, who is now on the run, attacked her and their 2-year-old son.
The man chopped off her three fingers and inflicted injuries on the toddler after hitting him with a blunt object. He then fled the scene at Magunga trading center.
Richard Ojuok, the doctor in charge at Magunga Hospital, says the two are now stable at the hospital where they were admitted following the incident.
Sebastian Okiring, Deputy County Commissioner for Suba Sub County, confirmed the incident and stated that a manhunt has been launched for the suspect, who is still at large.
