
The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a seven-day heavy rainfall warning for most of Kenya, beginning Tuesday.
According to a Monday forecast, heavy rains are expected in the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, Rift Valley, Southeast lowlands, Coast, Northeast, and Northwest regions between April 2 and April 8.
The Meteorological Department also urged Kenyans to prepare for potential flooding in their areas.

High temperatures are also expected in Turkana, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Isiolo, Garissa, Tana River, Lamu, Kilifi, Mombasa, and Kwale counties.
The average daytime temperature will exceed 30°C over the next seven days.
Most parts of Kenya are experiencing the start of the long-rains season, which typically begins in mid-March and lasts until May.
