KDF Chopper Crash: Funeral Service Underway For Senior Sergeant John Muriithi

 

The burial of Senior Sergeant John Kinyua Muriithi, who died in a helicopter crash two weeks ago, is currently underway in Kirinyaga County.

The interment will take place at Kirimunge Primary School.


Muriithi was one of ten military personnel killed in an April 18, 2024 helicopter crash in the Sindar area of Elgeyo Marakwet County.

Only two military officers survived the crash, which also claimed the life of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Francis Ogolla.


Brigadier Swale Saidi, Colonel Duncan Keittany, Lieutenant Colonel David Sawe, Major George Benson Magondu (Pilot), Captain Sora Mohamed, Captain Hillary Litali, Senior Sergeant John Kinyua Mureithi, Sergeant Cliphonce Omondi, and Sergeant Rose Nyawira all died.
