The Ministry of Public Service, CS Hon. Moses Kuria, is formally breaking ground on the first Huduma Centre in Runyenjes, Embu County, with the goal of providing citizens with public services through a one-stop shop approach.
As a physical representation of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformative Agenda (BETA), which aims to increase access to public services, the first Huduma Digital Centre in Runjenyes is consistent with the operationalization of 290 Huduma Digital Centres in all Constituencies.
The Huduma Digital Centre will be the first to combine the features of a Huduma Centre and a Digital Hub, featuring a Learning Centre, Studio, Tech/Creative Hub, Co-working Space, and Wi-Fi Hotspots.
Residents in Kagaari South, Kagaari North, Gaturi North, Runyenjes Central, Kyeni South, and Kyeni North will benefit from the Runjenyes Huduma Digital Centre in addition to having easier access to public services at a lower cost.
It will also lessen the distance that locals must now travel to receive public services to the Embu (24.5 km) and Kirinyanga (57.5 km) Huduma Centres.
