'I Let It Go!' Betty Kyallo Speaks After Her Luxury Salon Is Put Up For Auction

Media personality and entrepreneur Betty Kyallo has addressed the recent reports concerning her business, Flair by Betty, being put up for auction.

Taking to Instagram to share her thoughts, Kyallo attributed the unfortunate situation to the challenging business environment in Kenya, expressing the difficulty of sustaining businesses amidst economic slowdowns.

“Running a business in Kenya has become so difficult.  Landlords don't want to reduce rent and it becomes a huge burden on businesses that are struggling because of the economic slowdown. I let it go,” Kyalo said on her IG page.

Acknowledging the strain caused by such circumstances, Kyallo revealed her decision to let go of Flair by Betty, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing peace of mind over business ventures.

“I am happier. I sleep better. My peace of mind is more important than a name. I’m good,” she affirmed, indicating her contentment with the choice to move on from Flair by Betty.

Additionally, Kyallo shared her plans to reopen another business venture, Aftershave By Flair, catering specifically to men. Expressing her enthusiasm for the relaunch, she extended an invitation to gentlemen to visit the establishment, signaling a fresh start amidst the challenges faced.

"Also After 2 months of expansion. We reopen Aftershave by Flair Upperhill, La Baita,” she said.

In light of the impending auction, Keysian Auctioneers issued a public notice announcing the sale of items from the premises of Flair by Betty due to pending rent arrears. The auction, scheduled for Wednesday, April 17, 2024, will be held at Leakey’s Storage Limited along Lunga-Lunga road in Nairobi.
