KeNHA Officer Killed, Another Injured After Being Run Over By Defiant Lorry Driver

 


A Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) officer was killed and another injured on Tuesday morning after being hit by a runaway lorry at Chaka on the Nyeri-Nanyuki highway.

According to traffic commandant Mary Omari, the accident occurred when the driver refused to stop after being flagged down by traffic and KeNHA officers who had set up a temporary weighbridge in the area.


According to reports, the driver sped past the area and ran over the two officers.

Commandant Omari has stated that a manhunt has been launched to find and apprehend the perpetrator.

Meanwhile, the injured officer is receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.

Omari has also warned drivers against reckless driving, urging them to exercise extreme caution on the road.
