Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has stated that if the National Dialogue Committee (Nadco) report on electoral fairness proposals is halted, the opposition will take to the streets again.
He was speaking a day after Lady Justice Dora Chepkwony prevented Parliament from appointing a panel to audit the 2022 presidential election, a crucial recommendation of the Nadco team that met in Bomas following a peace agreement between President William Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Mr Musyoka, who co-chaired the committee with National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah, condemned Friday's orders as an attempt to undermine what was negotiated at Bomas.
"Kenya Kwanza has never had goodwill and faith. The problem in Kenya is this kind of politics that lies all the time. This State-sponsored court action must stop," said Mr Musyoka.
Speaking in Lunga Lunga sub-county, Mr Musyoka, flanked by Democratic Action Party (DAP-K) chairman Eugene Wamalwa, stated that they were willing to return to street demonstrations to let the Azimio Coalition have a say in electoral fairness.
The Nadco Bomas negotiations team was formed during the Raila Odinga-led Azimio's lengthy street protests to resolve problems made by the team as well as those identified by the government as vital to them.
The team's report has subsequently been supported by parliament, and laws based on it are currently being reviewed by several parliamentary committees.
