A woman found trafficking over 135Kg of bhang with an estimated street value of Ksh4 million was arrested in Kwale County on Saturday April 20, 2024.
The suspect identified as Regina Akoth Kungu was arrested by Mombasa anti-narcotics officers.
She was arraigned at a court in Kwale on Monday April 22, 2024, and pleaded not guilty to the charges of being in possession of the prohibited substance.
The 30-year-old Regina Akoth Kungu was arrested at her house within Kwa Musa in Diani, where several gunny bags containing the prohibited drug and Sh12,100 believed to be proceeds of her peddling were seized.
She was released on Ksh50,000 cash bail but the case will be mentioned on April 30, 2024.
