University Student Charged With Altering Safaricom Mpesa App System

 A third year multimedia University IT guru has been charged with altering Safaricom Mpesa app system and manipulating Mpesa transaction.

According to the prosecution, Johnstone Gikenye Njuguna a third year student at Multimedia University in Nairobi on diverse dates between March 14 and 20, 2024 unlawfully caused his Iphone to manipulate the Safaricom Mpesa App system with intent to gain access and initiated Mpesa transactions.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Bernard Ochoi, he denied the charges and was released on Ksh 200,000 bond with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 100,000.
