Al Shabaab Millitants Kill Two, Set Vehicles On Fire

Suspected Al Shabaab militants killed at least two people in an attack in the Milhoi area of Lamu County.

The terrorists also set fire to two vehicles, a canter and a pickup truck, as they fled the scene of the attack, according to police. The incident occurred on Tuesday.

They first killed two people, officials said, a driver and his turn boy, before fleeing the scene. Officials said the gang was harassing farmers in the village when the alarm was sounded.

According to police, while on the run, they ambushed vehicles. They then set fire to two of them near Bagdam Bridge.

According to witnesses, at least ten assailants stopped a vehicle transporting liquor from Mombasa to Lamu, forcing the driver and his turnboy out before killing them.

The gang fled into the adjacent forest.

Lamu is one of the areas that are frequently attacked by militants.

This is due, in part, to its proximity to Kenya's border with Somalia. The terrorists cross the border and attack before fleeing into the vast Boni Forest.

More police officers were deployed to the area to track down the attackers, who are believed to be hiding in the nearby forest.
