Police are investigating an incident where a stone from a construction site fell and killed a pedestrian in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area on Wednesday evening.
19-year-old Abdikaff Mohamed was walking along Second Avenue, Seventh Street when the stone fell and hit him on the head.
He was rushed to Care Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
After the incident, police visited the site and ordered construction to be halted pending an investigation into the incident by officials from the county government and National Construction Authority.
The body was moved to the local mosque pending autopsy, preservation, and burial.
Officials from the county government, National Construction Authority, and police are currently investigating the tragedy.
