Meru: Bishop’s wife on the run after attacking boy, injuring his genitals

The wife of a Bishop in Kiorimba, Meru County, is on the run after allegedly assaulting and injuring a 17-year-old boy whom she suspected of having an illicit relationship with her 15-year-old daughter.

According to Brian* (not his real name), the girl knocked on his door at 11 p.m. to spend the night, but he refused and insisted on escorting her back to her parents' home.

On reaching the house, he was attacked by members of the girl’s family.

Brian claims he became unconscious after being severely beaten by the girl's mother, sister, and brother.

He awoke tied to a tree, his trousers pulled down.

“She took the rope and tied it around my privates and started squeezing like you do when you wring out clothes after doing the laundry, I felt like my privates were being ripped out, I screamed in pain, I don’t know if the neighbours heard my cries,” he said.

After being rescued, the boy was reportedly taken to Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment and discharged.

Area Chief Victoria Kimathi confirmed the incident and said they were working with the police to find the suspect.
