18 Ethiopian Nationals Arrested In Wajir for Being in Kenya Illegally

 


Eighteen Ethiopian nationals have been detained by Wajir County police on suspicion of entering the country illegally.

 The 18 suspected immigrants were taken into custody on Thursday after a multi-agency operation that took place in Korondile Township and its surroundings. 

According to a police report, "They were arrested and placed in custody at Korondile Police Station awaiting to be escorted to Wajir law courts to face charges of being unlawful present in Kenya."

If someone is found illegally in Kenya, they may be subject to deportation or removal procedures. 

In addition, Kenyan immigration laws may impose fines or other penalties on them. 

The severity of the offense and other relevant factors will determine the range of penalties, which can include fines and imprisonment.
