At least 11 Kenyatta University students were killed in a horrific road accident involving their school bus and a trailer, Voi Sub-county Police Commander Ibrahim Daffala confirmed.
Daffala stated that ten students died on the spot, while another passed away in the hospital.
42 students suffered serious injuries, while four received minor wounds.
"The accident occurred during a heavy rainstorm. Daffala stated that the lorry attempted to move away from the road to avoid a head-on collision, which resulted in the accident.
The school bus was transporting public health students to Mombasa for an academic trip.
The accident occurred while the trailer was on its way to Nairobi.
